metoceanTRAVEL ("the App") provides meteorological and marine environment data to hotel guests visiting Crete, Greece. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We follow a principle of minimal data collection. The App collects only what is strictly necessary to function:
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise GPS location, device identifiers, or any other personal information.
The access code is sent to our server exclusively to verify that you are a guest at a participating hotel and to return the weather and beach data associated with that hotel. No personal profile is created, and no data is used for advertising or marketing purposes.
The App does not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, cookies, or any form of user tracking. We do not monitor your behaviour within the App.
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. Weather and marine data are sourced from our own backend infrastructure and scientific data providers; no user information is transmitted to those sources.
All communication between the App and our servers occurs over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored securely using the platform's native secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). Cached data is stored only on your device and is automatically cleared when you log out or remove the App.
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to retain. Authentication tokens expire automatically after 24 hours. Locally cached data is removed when the App is uninstalled.
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 16. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for use by all age groups.
As the App does not collect or store personal data, the typical GDPR data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) do not materially apply. Should this change in the future, we will update this policy and provide the appropriate mechanisms to exercise your rights.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
